History of Sumer

The history of Sumer from Prehistoric Ubaid & Uruk Periods, spanned over a time of 3000 years-beginning with the first settlement at Eridu,( 5th-3rd Milleninnia) Enki’s main City, and ending with the downfall of the Third dynasty of Ur(around 2004BCE). Between that time and the rise of Babylon i.e. more a transition period of Amorite, Until the early rise of Babylonia in the early 2nd Millennium BC.
Situated in southern Mespotamia (modern day Iraq). It is, indeed, believed to be the earliest known civilization in the world, baring the name “Cradle of civilization”.
The Sumerian city states rose to power during the prehistoric Ubaid & Uruk periods. The history of Sumer reaches back to the 26th century BC, but records of anything earlier remains obscure until early Dynastic III Period,ca.
Classic Sumer ends with the rise of Akkad ( Akkadian Empire), in the 23rd century BC.

Situated between the Tigiris and Euphrates, upon the fertile crescent by 5000BCE the Sumerians were able to develop core agricultural techniques , including cultivation of land, organized irrigation and monocropping. The Sumerians managed to adopt agricultural way of life, which depended heavily upon irrigation- this was mastered by the use of shadufs, canals, channels, dykes, weirs asd reservoirs.
From 2600BCE on ward, the Sumerians could write multiplication tables on clay tablets and deal with geometrical exercises and division problems. 2700-2300BCE saw the first appearances of the Abacus (a tablet placed horizontally on top of the capital of a column as an aid in supporting the architrave). The Sumerians were, indeed, the first to use a place value numeral system, find the area of a triangle and the volume of a cube.

Such creations and examples of Sumerian technology are as follows: Cuneiform ,arithmetic and geometry, irrigation systems, Sumerian Boats, lunarsolar calendar, bronze, leather, saws, chisels, hammers, nails, pins, rings, hoes, axes, knives, arrowheads, swords, glue, daggers, waterskins, bags, harnesses, armour, quivers, war chariots, scabbards, sandals, boots, harpoons,Beer, (other:Astronomy,Astrology, granary).
The constant wars between neighbouring Sumerian city states helped develop the military technology and techniques to a higher level . The first war recorded in history was between Lagash and Umma ca.2525 BC sat 18 miles apart and feuded for generations over the fertile region known as Gu'edena. In 2525, King Eannatum of Lagash defeated Umma using armored soldiers in phalanx formations, and chariots pulled by onagers (wild asses), an invention frequently credited to the Sumerians .

Enkian by 'Definition'.

I am not one for names, but if I were to characterise us under one name it would be "Enkians". We are believers in the Lord God Enki, Father of Creation, fertility, sweetwaters. Of wisdom & knowledge, creativity and magic. But some of us do follow the the Seven Gods who Decree.
As Enkians we strive to be the best we can be, we follow only the traditions of the old. We follow Sumer and we learn from the past to better our future. What knowledge we have, we have gained from that which was- Cuniform tablets, and from the knowledge which has been past of down from generation to generation. From the oldest of Tribes. We are creative, alternative thinkers, who see beyound the obvious.
Enkians are people who believes in and follow the religious percepts put forth by Enki and His Divine Messengers, the Abgal/Apkallu, and the guidance of his son Silikmuludug (Asar / Aarduk). We are people that hold these religious tenants and doctrines sacred to ourselves and strive to uphold them in our lives and to model them in our behavior. We are those who attend and hold rites of worship as ordained by Enki throughout the ages and commit ourselves to our faith wholeheartedly throughout out lives. We live, we learn,we love, we grow.
We are not "Satanists", we do not follow Sitchin and/or his theories. We do NOT promote or encourage violence, prejudice discrimitaion or racisim. We encourage equality, kindness and understanding. No two people are the same, and each have their own gifts to share, give and cherish.
We are our own. We strive to learn both Spiritualy and mentally from what doctrines we have, and what the Abgal/Apkallu have taught civilization, many centuries ago. We respect others and/or their beliefs, and help those whom wish to be taught in the ways of Enki and his Abgal/Apkallu.
We welcome & encourage those who wish to learn, grow & understand.

Responsible for our own actions.

Today I was discussing something with a friend. Certain fears I had for not reaching expectations in trying to help others. Some of us are on certain courses, or set certain tasks to help people, but what happens if that person doesn't want to be helped? Or chooses not to listen to what the divine have to say?

I cannot help but to take it personally if someone does not heed a warning, or want to be helped- but as my lovely friend said "You cannot help those who do not want to be helped, you can't guide those who seek to remain blind." It leaves a dilemma. We can tell people of the messages we are delivered, but we cannot enforce people to follow them. Each person is responsible for their own will and action. They can heed the advice we give them, they can follow it, if they choose. But at the end of the day, we cannot enforce. I do not think I would even want to enforce it.
The great thing about serving Enki are his messages. As much as I try to do as asked, sometimes it is impossible for me to be able to do aught else then to SAY what is needed to be said.

I can be hard on myself as much as I like, it does not mean the person will care, take notice or even listen. All I can do is what is asked of me.
The best we can do for someone is lay the fruits on the table, whether they choose to eat is entirely up to them.
Just as I am responsible for passing on messages ( relevant or not), people have their own responsibility to receive them upon deaf or open ears.
A lesson I will learn.

New Temple?

I've been wagering on this for a while now, but having no resources to make it come about.. Until yesterday. I've been searching for the right place to situate a temple, my imagination has been running riot- and half the places I cant afford, or are not well situated for privacy.
Yesterday me and a friend came across a small cave situated in Backwell, well hidden, and kept pretty much a secret. I think this is the most perfect setting we could've found. It is actually owned by the woodland trust, so as long as we keep it clean, tidy all should be well to set one up there.
Of course it will need a Blessing and purification Ritual, but I have high hopes for it- my greatest concern is if we do invest alot of time and effort in to erecting a temple from this ancient piece, some ignorant person will come along and sabotage it.

With the knowledge that this cave was used as a temple 2000+ years ago, one must respect the spiritual and archaeological aspects of the Cave.
I know I am not the only one to be privy to it's whereabouts, so one must understand, if all goes well... And I do manage to get as far as i'd like, what is the likelihood that all my effort will be swiftly removed?

My eyes and heart are set on that place.. I will take a few things up this week, just to see how well they keep.
